How do employees feel about a gender pay gap?

As early as next year, a significant shift awaits businesses with 100 or more employees as workers find out their employers’ gender pay gap. The question for many HR professionals is: How will it impact my workforce?

That’s the focus of our latest Employee Sentiment Index which reveals:

• 82% of employees say learning an organisation has a significant gender pay gap would make them think negatively about it.
• 77% of employees say if they found out an organisation had a significant pay gap while applying for a job there, they’d think about looking elsewhere.
• Women were roughly twice as likely than men to feel upset, outraged and less confident if they learnt of a significant gap.
