The start of a new year often sparks a fresh perspective – and according to our latest Employee Sentiment Index (ESI), Australian employees are feeling it.

The survey of over 1,000 Australian employees reveals:

• 65% of Australian employees believe the new year is the perfect time to search for a new job.
• One in four employees think they’re not in the right role, signaling a potential shift in job market trends.
• 12% of employees rated their most recent recruitment experience as “bad”—that’s nearly 1.4 million Australians feeling let down.

The latest ESI also provides some interesting insights into employee frustrations with the recruitment process. How does your organisation measure up?

• Nearly 40% of Australian employees are frustrated by the lack of salary information until late in the process
• 35% find prolonged decision-making time or delayed responses frustrating
• 23% say it’s being ‘ghosted’ after the interview.
