ELMO Software appoints new CMO to lead next phase of growth and innovation

17 September 2025 – ELMO Software has appointed Mei Ching Koon as Chief Marketing Officer, as the HR technology company continues to expand its impact across Australia and New Zealand.

Mei brings more than 25 years’ experience in building high-performing marketing and revenue teams in fast moving growth organisations. Most recently, she was CMO at digital experience platform, Squiz, where she led global go-to-market operations, driving growth across the customer lifecycle. Prior to that, she held the Senior Director, Product & Customer Marketing position at SiteMinder, as part of the senior leadership team growing the SaaS unicorn towards its IPO.

Over the past two decades, Mei has also held a series of greenfield leadership roles across SaaS and enterprise technology businesses, where she consistently built commercial and marketing functions to support scale and transformation.

In her role at ELMO, Mei will shape marketing strategy in collaboration with the executive team, the marketing team and the wider business, ensuring every initiative is aligned to company priorities and its purpose of helping organisations release HR’s full potential.

Speaking on her appointment, Mei said, “It’s a privilege to join another home-grown Australian SaaS success story. I’m energised by the opportunity to serve the HR community with ELMO. As the rise of AI profoundly impacts talent, career pathways and workforce transformation, we are at a pivotal point in time where HR leaders stand firmly at the centre of these shifts.

ELMO is uniquely positioned to help customers shift from responsive management to proactive intelligence and automation. I’m excited to join a company that challenges the status quo, obsesses over its customers, and has the vision and courage to shape the future of work.”

ELMO CEO Joseph Lyons, said, “Mei has outstanding experience transforming Marketing and GTM functions, building teams that deliver measurable impact. She is a problem solver with a strong strategic mindset and will be a valuable partner to our leadership and marketing teams. Mei brings the fresh perspective, energy and drive we need to continue supporting the 2,500 ANZ-based organisations that rely on ELMO today, while positioning us strongly for the future.”

The appointment of Mei follows the creation of a brand new role, promoting a key ELMO leader, Ramesh Thiagalingam, to VP: Machine Learning Operations and Platform Engineering. Thiagalingam’s team, which is building a connected AI ecosystem that spans every function, demonstrates ELMO’s commitment to embedding AI into the heart of its platform and helping employees and customers thrive in this new era of work.
