62% of Australian workers are in support of employers mandating employee COVID-19 vaccinations in the workplace.
That’s according to the ELMO Employee Sentiment Index – a nationwide poll commissioned by ELMO Software. This index provides a quarterly update of sentiment among more than 1,000 Australian workers about their attitudes, actions and concerns in the workplace over the past three months, in addition to their plans and expectations for the future. Each quarter a series of topical matters are included in the poll. For the June quarter this included employee attitudes towards COVID-19 vaccinations.
The benchmarking research found that Australian workers are feeling less secure in their jobs and more burnt out compared to the first quarter of the year.
Despite concerns about job and economic security, a quarter (26%) of Australian workers are considering changing their careers – an increase on the previous quarter – with 19% of workers actively searching for new roles in another company.
The vaccine rollout is also an important factor for workers with 76% reporting they believe the economy will only return to normal if an Australian COVID-19 vaccine rollout is successful, yet only two in five workers believe Australia is on track with its vaccination rollout.
