Introduction
The Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) is the national association representing human resource and people management professionals, with approximately 20,000 members from Australia and across the globe. AHRI sets the professional standard for HR in Australia through HR certification. AHRI also provides formal education and training services in HR, people management and business skills; produces world-class conferences; and holds seminars and networking opportunities all over Australia, including the biggest annual HR event – the AHRI National Convention.
Problems Experienced
Three years ago, AHRI was undergoing a shift in its strategy around learning – specifically a shift in its e-learning strategy. AHRI wanted to align its e-learning content with its other educational offerings. AHRI had recently launched its new Training Needs Analysis Tool based on the AHRI Model of Excellence, the framework of what good HR looks like in terms of the technical and behavioural competencies of HR practitioners.
AHRI required a genuine partner who could align well with the brand. They also needed content created by subject matter experts.
Solution
“We went out to market and we sought quite a number of providers out there,” says Angelina Pillai, National Management Professional Development, AHRI. “What ELMO provided was the ability to really partner with us. They were keen on ensuring that whatever product was out there aligned with the AHRI brand. That was one of the main reasons why we chose ELMO.”
Pillai adds that the ELMO team were subject matter experts, which provided confidence that the content in the e-learning modules would ensure robust learning outcomes for AHRI members.
“The e-learning modules that sit within the ELMO library certainly aligned with a lot of the content that we had as part of our broader professional development products and services,” she says.
The Result
Pillai says the biggest impact since partnering with ELMO has been AHRI’s ability to offer a variety and diversity of educational products.
“People want different modes of study, so we offer face to face workshops and distance mode, but online just adds to and enhances that experience for the learner,” says Pillai. “It’s very collaborative in the way the environment works, and I think it just provides another option for people on their learning journey.”
Pillai would recommend ELMO to others – not just the learning solutions but also ELMO’s broader talent management software services. “These provide a one-stop shop for HR within an organisation to function effectively,” she says.
